An excellent film version of Amy-Jo Albany's Low Down: Junk, Jazz, and Other Fairy Tales from Childhood, her memoir of life with her father jazz pianist Joe Albany. I met the author briefly in the late 70s (and her grandmother once as well - I never met her father) and the book and film capture the strange dark world of that time and place perfectly.
